P.E.E.R Investigations
| Golden Lane Antiques and Art Gallery 11 North Water Street, New Oxford PA April 18, 2009
The PEER team had first visited Golden Lane in August 2005. Nearly four years later the spirit activity in Golden Lane had not diminished, in fact it had increased in frequency and diversity. Activity had gone beyond the cute and simple occurrence of markings on mirrors and photos of orbs. Spirits had been heard and even seen by customers and Gallery staff alike. Barry, the owner of the Gallery contacted PEER to request that we perform a second investigation at the Gallery. |
| Investigation Details
PEER members were divided up into four teams, each holding their own vigil in different parts of the building. It did not take long for our resident clairvoyant, our resident psychic who was in Team 1 to be visited by several spirits including an old man and the spirit of a young girl. Although there were several spirits present, this young girl was able to get the attention of not just our resident clairvoyant but she made her presence known to other team members by getting in contact range of the other team members and their equipment. Barry who was monitoring a KII meter was made very aware of her presence as she moved close to the EMF detector making its lights illuminate in varying strength and frequency.
Our resident clairvoyant was able to determine that the young girls name was Clarissa. Clarissa had the attention of this team for most of the time during this vigil even though there were other spirits that would make their presence know to our resident clairvoyant. They would experience cold spots, see lights and shadows and hear thumps and knocks that were determined not to be the sounds of an old and creaky building. Clarissa conveyed to our resident clairvoyant that she was interested in a doll in the building. She explained that the doll was dressed in pink and that she played with it often. The team members looked around in their part of the building but were not able to locate such a doll. At one point Barry had the attention of Clarissa with his KII meter and was instructed by Tina McNaughton who was the lead investigator for this team how he could follow the EMF reading. She suggested to Barry that he ask Clarissa if she could take him to her doll. As the KII meter was showing activity and then went blank, Barry took a few steps forward and found the signal once again only to have it disappear again. Barry took a few more steps forward finding the signal and a pattern. Within moments, Barry and the team found themselves being lead out of the large room up a ramp and down a corridor. The team seemed to have lost Clarissa’s EMF signal at this point and attempted unsuccessfully to establish contact with this young spirit at that time.
It was a little later that Barry realized that he was close to an area that had been producing strange EMF readings for the past several months. There was a travel trunk in the middle of the space that when photographed, had also had orbs and even ectoplasm hovering around it. As this fact was revealed to the rest of the team they began their search for the doll. There adjacent to the trunk was a pink doll, one like that described to our resident clairvoyant by Clarissa. This had to be it; all the evidence and psychic revelations left no further doubts in anyone’s mind. Clarissa had taken Barry, our resident clairvoyant and the rest of the team to a spot only feet away in the huge building where she plays with a doll in a pink dress. |
This photo was taken by Barry several months prior to this investigation. There is a pinkish distortion behind the trunk and partially covering the doll on the chair. Could this be Clarissa with her doll?

Here are a few photos with orb activity.
Let me set up this next set of photos.
Even though the rest of the evening was not uneventful, there was little more that could stand up to the excitement of this one event. During the next week as team members reviewed their photos, audio tapes and video recordings, we came across a few EVPs and over a dozen photos containing orbs out of the many hundreds of photo that were taken that night. Jan and Steve Bolze came across three photos that were more puzzling. It was a series of photos that were taken at the very end of the evening.
As the teams were gathering in the lobby at the end of our final vigils, team leader Stan Wannop entered the room calling for someone with a camera to follow him down the ramp to the room where Team 1 had been setup during the first vigil period of the evening. Apparently there was a food net that was hanging from the ceiling and it was swinging and swaying. This in itself was of interest and was noted for the record but was later debunked as being caused by a slight draft that was coming through the holes in the pegboard wall behind the object. What was not noticed that evening was what else was recorded in that booth. Upon reviewing the photographs, Jan and Steve saw something in them that was not supposed to be there.
In this series of photographs which have been cropped to provide a closer view, Stan could be seen pointing to the swinging net for all the other team members to see. The second photograph is basically the same but without Stan. The third photograph is again basically the same as the second one except you can see other team members in a mirror. Something in the mirror in the third photo caught my attention and as I zoomed in on the reflections in the mirror, I saw a brownish shadow on team member Randy Lawson’s left shoulder. In an attempt to debunk this as a photographic anomaly, I ran the photo through photo imaging software. Jan who had taken this photo was behind Randy and the brownish cloud could be seen in the mirror in front of Randy. It is actually between Randy and the mirror. This was not normal, it is paranormal, and it is ectoplasm.
I called Jan and Steve to inform them of my findings and Jan’s reply set me back a few steps. “Steve, that’s cool too but who is the other person standing to Randy’s right” she asked? Recognizing Randy in the mirror, I glanced at the other person and assumed it was his wife Patti. After a strenuous and time consuming evaluation it became clear that this solid full colored image standing behind Randy was not Patti. We believe it is the same old man that our resident clairvoyant described and saw in the same location hours earlier. We spent hours belaboring over this and after another week we met up for further review. We were now 95 percent certain that this photo contained the image of a man that was not present that evening as a living being. Then Jan discovered in the second photo just over Randy’s right shoulder, is a shadow. Looking more closely this shadow could be this very same man beginning to materialize. This is that one piece of the puzzle that makes our conclusion sound and positive. This is a 100 percent real ghost in living color.

This is a collage of the above three photos so you can more easily evaluate and compare this sequence of photos with their incredible paranormal anomaly.
Now for a few EVPs. Anyone for a Sing-A-Long? These first two EVPs are related to Clarissa and Team 1.
| I want to sing ... As a team member is using a KII meter for validation, he asks Clarissa if she is singing for them. Listen for her response at about 11 seconds in to the clip. |
Sing another song ... In this second clip with Clarissa, the team members ask of she will sing another song. Here response may not be quite as clear in this clip but she is definitely there responding as verified with the KII meter. |
The man in the mirror. We believe these next two EVPs are related to the old man that our resident clairvoyant saw early in the evening and then captured in the images above.
| See me in the mirra ... Tomato tomato; mirra mirror... however you pronounce it someone is telling us to look in the mirror. Listen for it about 15 seconds into this clip. |
Men at work ... This clip contains a sound that we cannot identify. There has been some discussion among the members of P.E.E.R. as to what this noise sounds like. Some say it is machinery while others think it sounds like grinding or cutting. What ever it is, it was not heard by the investigators at the time. This is interesting because it is rather loud and the only thing they heard was a fly. |
