P.E.E.R    Investigations    

The Railroad House Inn 280 West Front Street, Marietta PA March 07, 2010 Less than 30 miles south of Harrisburg along the Susquehanna River is the town of Marietta and in that town is the famous Railroad House Inn. Today the Railroad House Inn hosts a restaurant, a tavern and a bed and breakfast where in 1820, the inn was smaller and perhaps more modest as it was built to provide accommodations for canal and river traffic running from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh via the Portage Railroad. When the railroad, later known as the Pennsylvania Standard, replaced the canal, the waiting room and ticket office were located in this building. It remained here until 1860 when the Marietta Station was constructed across the street. That station is now part of the Railroad House Inn property. In the late 1890’s, the Railroad House was opened by Colonel Thomas Scott, who was Assistant Secretary of War for Lincoln and also a famous president of the Pennsylvania Railroad. It’s obvious that this property has an impressive history that includes a visit from Jane Fonda as she made her way around the country speaking out against the Vietnam War. What is also obvious to many is that this place is haunted. In February we made our way up the river to talk with the owners of the property and get their input. Tracy was eager to meet with us to show us around the place and tell us what she had heard and even what she had experienced for herself.

Investigation Details PEER arrived at The Railroad House Inn with a full compliment of investigators including psychic mediums, Sensitives and Reiki practitioners. Prior to the entire team arriving, we performed a walk through with our psychics, which were participating in our investigation. As we escorted our psychics, their impressions and visions were abundant and flowing freely. Many of them were bringing questions to mind that we would attempt to have answered during our vigils later in the day. Several time periods were recognized by our psychics. They picked up on a scene taking place during the French and Indian or American Revolution War period in the courtyard and inside was a time before, during and after the Civil War. Once we completed our preliminary walk through, we realized we had some decisions to make. There was no way even with a group this size that we could cover the entire building in one visit. We decided to concentrate on one of the first floor dining rooms, the Cottage and adjoining courtyard and guest rooms 5, 6 and 8. Our teams were equipped with the usual cameras, thermal and emf detectors, night vision video cameras and two ghost boxes backed up with H2 MP3 audio recorders. Here are a few photos with orb activity that were taken in the courtyard as well as in the rear dining room and guest room #5. The first two photos were taken in the rear dining room. There were several other photos that captured this lone orb moving around in the rooom during this early vigil. The third photo was taken in the courtyard. You can clearly see a single orb in motion. Look for the second orb at the window of the dining room. At first it was thought that this was a reflection of the first orb but the angle is wrong. Discussion has also been made as to the location of this second orb. Debate has been made that this second orb is actually inside the building. The forth photo was taken in guest room 5. It shows Patti holding out her arm as she asks for one of the spirits in the room to touch her. Take note to the orb on her arm.

EVPs
There were plenty of EVPs during this investigation with the use of our Ghost Boxes. In guest room 5 we captured several spirits giving us permission to take their picture as well as telling us their names, laughing and whistling.

Video evidence was just as abundant as the EVPs. Here are ten clips that we captured all in guest rooms 5 and 6. Throughout these vigils, the spirits in the rooms with us were very happy to accommodate our requests, giving us their names, turning on the flashlight when asked and even interacting with us.
