P.E.E.R    Investigations    

Private Residence, New Oxford, PA February 24, 2007         One of our own investigators (actually two of them) invited the PEER Group to take a look around their house . . . so of course we obliged. She had told us several times in the past that when she would give her young son a bath in the master bathroom which connected the master bedroom with the boys bedroom, she would sense that someone else was in the room with them. Even though she had never seen anything that seemed paranormal, she would sense the presence of someone else.         That bathroom isn't the only area of the house where something 'strange' had occurred. Their 16 year old daughter awoke late one night (around 4:00 a.m.) to use the bathroom. She walked out of her bedroom and down the hall to the main bath. From inside the bathroom, she could see that the door to the linen closet was open. Returning to her bedroom, she turned to look back to the hallway and staircase and saw that the closet door was now completely closed. This of course, completely freaked this 16 year old out as it probably would for all of us. Of course, she ran into her parent’s bedroom to seek comfort from just having her first paranormal experience.         The location of this closet could have a little bearing on this experience. The linen closet in question is located on the center landing of the staircase, but it wasn't always a closet. Less than a year earlier, they had created this closet out of the back staircase, which they just closed off. The top of the staircase became a linen closet while the first floor space of the staircase became a pantry in the kitchen. Our mission (which we chose to accept) was to see if we could determine if someone was still using the back staircase.

Investigation Details        Eight PEER members participated in this investigation. We arrived at the house at 7:00 pm on Saturday, February 24, 2007. The first part of the investigation we wanted to attend to was a preliminary discussion with the homeowners to identify the main areas in question. Identifying those areas as the master bathroom, and linen closet. We setup an audio recorder in the master bath and proceeded throughout the house in two teams using digital cameras, digital and analog audio recorders, emf detectors, a thermal detector and a video camera with Night Shot infrared vision. The general weather for the evening was clear, minimal winds (@ 5 mph) with temperatures in the low to mid thirties.

So, what evidence did we come up with during this investigation? Very little that we can show you. Out of nearly 150 photos from three different cameras and photographers, a study of emf detection from two detectors and investigators, one digital and one analog audio recorder and the Mini DV video recorder, all we can show you is this one photograph. As you can see, we captured one lone orb by the back staircase. It is almost as if someone has cleared the house and was standing guard by the back staircase. Oh by the way, this closet (closed off staircase) is also on the opposite side of the same wall of the master bedroom and master bath. Click for a closer look at the 'hot spot'.
